Products produced on screw machines may require more set-up time, but once they are running, they can turn out larger volume runs at a more efficient rate.Screw machine products may or may not be threaded, but threaded component parts are often produced on a screw machine. A screw machine may have multiple spindles, each with a material bar to be machined. Each of these stations may contain several tools performing different cutting operations sequentially. Screw machines are capable of feeding a bar through the spindle, then performing facing operations. Turning operations are performed on the outside of the bar. Boring operations are then drilled, and finally parting operations cutting off the part.
